In this article we'll cover how you can start your own house cleaning business for little or no cost. This doesn't mean you won't have ANY start up expenses. What it does mean is that you can put off those expenses until you have the money to cover them. I'm about to tell you exactly how. With a house cleaning business, the most basic form of advertising is handing out flyers in the neighborhood that you want to work. Start with this. If you don't have a computer and printer, use one belonging to a friend or one at your local library. One way or another, get a flyer together and get 100 to 200 copies of it that you can put on doors. Be sure to include your phone number on the flyers. It may take a two or three times of doing this, but if you've chosen the neighborhood wisely you should have enough incoming phone calls to result in your first customer. Once you've got your first customer and are set up with your first cleaning schedule, ask the customer if they have a vacuum, and if they care if you use it when cleaning. You can also ask about other cleaning supplies. Don't be bashful about asking, and don't think it's rude. If someone has an issue with you asking, then just politely tell them it's "no problem". Even if you lose a potential customer over this, it isn't a big deal. Don't let it discourage you. Remember, you are trying to start with nothing... so there may be a few more bumps than if you already had your supplies. When it comes time to clean the house, gather whatever additional supplies are needed from your own house to clean the house, and put them in a nice looking box or plastic tub. Take that to the appointment and clean away! Just focus on one or two customers at first until you have built enough funds to purchase the necessary cleaning equipment to take on more houses. The whole point of your first customer or two is to get funds to use for your actual business start-up. Once you have built up the needed money, you can buy the needed supplies, start using other effective forms of advertising, and increase your marketing efforts until your client base has reached the desired size. Some people think that it takes money to make money. This just isn't true. Virtually anyone can start a cleaning business with very little or no money. You just have to be determined, persistent, and willing to work hard and be creative when you get in a "crunch". You've now been given one simple and straight-forward method to starting a business of your own with no money up front. There are, of course, other methods and options available to those willing to give it some time and effort. No matter what your situation, don't allow yourself to think that you "can't do this" just because you have a restrictive budget. You CAN Do this, and you will... and this article may very well be your starting point.
