St Andrews is one of the most favored places where those enjoy a game of golf will want to visit when going to Scotland. Sometimes it is not actually that difficult for someone to actually get a tee off time at St Andrews as long as you would like to play any of the other five courses situated around this town. However if you wish to play on the famous Old Close currently there is around a 2 year waiting list for you to do so. If you want you could enter into the Old Course's daily lottery draw that takes place for tee off times the next day. But the chances of you getting the chance to play here are very slim. If you can arrange your vacation in August as this will provide you with a 1 in 4 chance of being able to get to play on the course by entering the daily lottery. 2. Another month that is well worth considering for visiting St Andrews and which may provide you with the chance to play on the Old Course is in June. If you can check out the Andrews Links Trust website where you can find out on what dates the course is not open for the general public to play on it. Currently for the Month of June the 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 21st and 28th are all dates that the public are unable to have a game of golf on this course. 3. If you can avoid days such as Thursdays and Saturdays as these are the days when local golfers will have reserved their own tee off times. Instead try for days earlier in the week if you can although the chances of you getting a tee off time that you want and when you want is still highly unlikely as many people will have reserved their tee off times weeks and months in advance. 4. The best day in fact you may find of getting a greater chance of being able to play a round of golf on the Old Course is on the Monday. However, if you are intending to enter into the daily lottery draw you will need to submit your ballot on the Saturday before. This is because the course is in fact closed on Sundays. 5. Another thing that is worth considering doing in order to increase your chances of being able to play a round of golf at this superb course is by agreeing to split up from those you intend to play with. So that you will play as singles rather than as a group. If you keep the above pointers in mind you may well find that getting the chance to play on one of Scotland's world-renowned golf courses is going to be much easier than you first imagined. This will further ensure that your St Andrews vacations break is one that you can enjoy to its full potential.
