For a guy that has been quoted saying "Ultimate Frisbee is the only form of exercise I don't hate," Jack Black, 38, has long astounded fans with his fancy foot work and hilarious stunts that demand a high degree of athleticism.
Black's upcoming roles promise to be another heroic display of physical exertion.
A California native, Black was born August 28, 1969. He began his acting career as a child when he starred in a commercial for the Atari game "Pitfalls." Since, he has built a multi-million dollar career around music and acting. His comedic stunts have brought him to the big screen time and time again. Fans are greatly anticipating the summer release of "Kung-Fu Panda" and "Tropic Thunder."
Being a cartoon, "Kung-Fu Panda" will simply be a display of vocal talent, but "Tropic Thunder," an action comedy, will purportedly be a serious exhibition of Black's ability to bounce across the screen like a kangaroo. With films ranging from "School of Rock" to "Nacho Libre," Black has continued to indiscriminately toss himself into harms way for the sake of comedy proving that, despite his engorged belly, he is in excellent shape.
"The Year One," set to release in the summer of 2009, is currently in production but fans are already talking about the bible-based tale of two men adventuring in the time of Moses. Directed by Harold Ramis, Black said he thought it would be fun to have all the stories of the bible compiled into a modern-day movie.
