Most of the time you will be crouched over your tub to get it as clean as possible. There is a new tub scrubber that will eliminate the need for stooping and crouching over the tub. If you choose the right combination of tools and cleaners your days of stooping over the tub can be eradicated.

You should understand the material that your tub is made from. Porcelain tubs are not as good with the use of abrasive cleaners and may become damaged if you use one. An acrylic tub is more durable when faced with these abrasive cleaners. Although if you use an abrasive to excess you will dull the finish of your tub. You should try to use a cleaner that does not have an abrasive.

If you are not using an abrasive cleaner you may be wondering how you are going to get your tub clean. There are now products available to you that will effectively clean your tub without the harmful and damaging affects of abrasives. There are tub scrubbers that are made from polyester bristles that will not absorb water. They are able to give you the scrubbing that you need without becoming damaged by the chemicals in your cleaning product.

If there is a lot of build up in your tub you will want to use an effective soap scum remover. You should make sure that you follow the instructions on the label to use it correctly. You should allow the product to set into the built up soap scum so that removal will be easier. When you are finished with your tub scrubber you should be sure to store it with the handle off of the floor or kept hanging upside down. The head of the tub scrubber will need to be replaced with time, but you should be sure to care for it in any case.

Once you have completely cleaned your bathtub you should work to keep it clean with a simple maintenance routine. You should be sure to remove any residue and water that is left on the walls after every shower. You can use a squeegee to perform this job. Spray some soap scum remover on the walls of your shower after you have cleaned off the residue. Never spray the remover on the floor of the bathtub, it can become very slippery.

To effectively clean the fixtures in your tub you should use your tub scrubber. It is the simplest tool to use for this job. You may need to work hard if there is a build up of soap scum on your fixtures. Leave the product on the fixtures to allow it to soak in and easy removal. You might want to consider softening your water if you have a reoccurring problem of soap scum.

With a little preventative maintenance you will be able to keep your tub shiny and clean and let your job be a little easier every time you clean. It only takes a few minutes every day to save you hours of time later.
