In 2007, online research firm, Forrester, reported that approximately one dollar out of every five transferred online was made by either eBay or Amazon.

Even in 2007, eBay was losing it's monopolistic hold over the ecommerce industry. And according to seller reports the number of resellers sourcing from wholesale suppliers and changing to different ecommerce portals is growing rapidly.

Recently, Amazon and other eBay alternatives are making a few more cents on that dollar, and taking EBay's seller base with them.

The Problem: What's Wrong With EBay?

Recently, EBay announced that it would be removing buyer's feedback ratings from their website. The feature that formerly allowed sellers to gauge their buyer's credibility.

Shortly before that, EBay announced that they would be raising their selling fees.

A short while before that, it was the company's acquisition of PayPal, and the push to convert all transactions on the site to the newly acquired company.

Since its conception, PayPal has held all transferred funds from the seller for a period of 21 days after sale.

Until now, this fact has been overlooked, But in the past year alone, an influx of startups have come in to take the online resale throne, without the corrupt policies and unnecessary restrictions.

The Solution: Why What's Bad For EBay Is Good For You

Many resale and online business entrepreneurs sourcing items from wholesale vendors to sell online have used eBay exclusively since its arrival.

But change is upon us, and the changes made to eBay's policies have spawned an entire new generation of eBay alternatives dedicated to getting your business off the ground and into the World Wide Web.

Using these new websites, like Etsy, Bonanzle, and the prominent Amazon, many startups have seen their businesses soar.

Driven by bohemian niche markets, these eBay alternatives have discovered a previously untapped market on the internet for resellers with wholesale suppliers and aim to make it as easy as possible for you to take part.

On top of previously unavailable consumers, and prettier websites, most of these startup companies charge minimal fees, or are completely free, and are free from the confines of PayPal, so as to get you your money quicker.

EBay's dollar of the market is being split up quickly by competitors. Competitors that want you to take part. So take a look at some of the eBay alternatives. You may be pleasantly surprised at your newly profitable findings.
