We started offering Botox & Restylane at our spa a couple months ago. We have a doctor come in once a month to treat clients because a lot of clients were either asking about it or already getting it done elsewhere. So I decided to jump on the bandwagon! Just know that I also had ulterior motives!

I have been playing around with the idea of getting botox done on myself for sometime, to get rid of the deep line between my brows, which I was educated that it actually has a medical name "The 11 Line". I has always referred to it as the "No" line, from telling my daughter "no" all the time accompanied by the mean look.

After 3 visits from our botox doctor, I finally got the courage up and my boyfriend finally allowed for it to happen. I have to admit, being a newbie, I was somewhat nervous about the pain and the results, but hey, if I gave birth, I can do anything.

We decided to take before and after picture of all my wrinkles. So we can expose them on our website (coming soon to www.ASerenity.com in case you're interested in looking at them). My boyfriend is taking nice close-ups of all my flaws which is great for my confidence, but I'll take one for the team.

The doctor had already scoped me out the previous times he was at the spa and pointed out more issues I needed addressed, thanks doc, and decided to work on my forehead, do a slight brow lift and take care of my crows feet. He made me make some faces at him so he could see where he needed to inject me. The poking started. It was actually not as bad as I imagined it would be. It stung a little but honestly I think waxing my brows hurts more. After about 5 minutes I was all done. That's it. He wiped the residue, stepped back to admire his work and let me get back to work.

I immediately ran to the mirror, thinking I wouldn't recognize myself, but it was still me, only with a little redness as if I had gotten a facial with extractions on my forehead. Great! I had a dinner meeting right afterwards and wondered if I should put make-up on to hide the evidence, but decided it might not be a good idea.

My boyfriend hushed me up against a white wall to take the after pictures and commented that he couldn't tell that I had anything done. Just what I wanted to hear, torture for nothing. By the time I went to dinner the redness had gone away. I could still move my forehead and make faces and it didn't feel numb like I thought it would. Not only did it not look like I had anything done, it really didn't feel like I had anything done. Did it work? I wondered.

When I woke up the next morning, I immediately ran to the bathroom, to look in the mirror, among other things. Low and behold my crows feet were almost non existent. My forehead looked smoother and the 11 line was fading. I was told that it will take 3 days before the true results show, so I will sit, watch and wait.

In the meantime I can't wait to tell all my clients about my experience.
