The master cleanse has been around for decades and is a great detoxification diet that uses all natural ingredients. The tasty cayenne peppered drink that is the diets staple food has only four ingredients, making this a very cost effective two week program. This article will cover the recipe and general help aids to the program. If you are looking to lose up to 20 pounds in two weeks and want a new healthier you, this detoxification program just might be what you are looking for.

What is the diet?
The master cleanse is an all natural detoxification plan that uses lemons, water, cayenne pepper, sea salt, and grade b maple syrup to help the body rid itself of toxins and left over scraps in your digestive tract.

Why use this program?
This is an inexpensive detoxification program that has gotten a ton of public attention after the results celebrity Beyonce publicly announced how it worked for her. It has a proven track record and people have been known to lose 15-20 pounds in two weeks.

If you are struggling with your health, are getting winded from walking up a flight of stairs, needing to lose a large amount of weight and needing a jump start to your diet, or not having regular bowel movements daily this is a plan that can help.

Dedication:
The master cleanse is not for everyone, it takes a good amount of dedication to be successful on this plan. Convincing yourself to give up solid foods and drink a peppered lemonade requires a bit of motivation. If you choose to use this program make sure to stick with it. The results are phenomenal. Choose a motivation to help you through the plan and join an online forum or chat group to help you through those hard moments.

Get your friends and family on board and let them know what you need from them to be successful. If you are the one who makes the meals nightly you might want to pass that torch over for two weeks to someone else. If you work out of the home, communicating with your friends at work and asking them to not offer you donuts will alleviate some of the tension.

How does it work:
There are three phases; ease in, master cleanse, and ease out. In the ease in stage you will start to get your body used to the idea of smaller portions and the all liquid diet. In the cleanse stage you will be using the liquid diet as a way to detoxify your body. In the ease out stage you will reacquaint your body with solid foods. The process sounds simple, the hardest part is getting over the mental mind blocks of not being able to eat solid food for almost two weeks.

Ease In:
This stage is not necessary but highly recommended. It allows your body to get used to the liquid diet that you will be following for the next two weeks.

Day One: eat only fruits and vegetables

Day Two: eat fruits and vegetables and start drinking juices

Day Three: You will only drink two 1 liter bottles of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Master Cleanse:
For the next two weeks you will be preparing the lemonade recipe below and drinking two 1 liter bottle of this spicy drink throughout the day. If you get hunger pains you can drink water or the lemonade but you will not be eating any food. This will allow your body to work out the food storage and any left over food in your digestive tract. As well you will be taking a salt water flush which will help to clean the excess waste that has been stored in your digestive tract and is attached to your intestinal walls.

The Lemonade Recipe:
7 tablespoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice
7 tablespoons of grade B maple syrup
cayenne pepper
1 liter bottle of purified water

Mix the water, lemon juice, and maple syrup together. Season as spicy as you can handle the lemonade with the cayenne pepper. Drink two of these a day and enjoy.

During this cleanse phase you will also use a salt water flush and laxative teas. This part of the program works like this:

Day One Cleanse: Drink laxative tea and throughout the day drink lemonade. A couple of hours before bed drink another laxative tea to unwind.

Day Two Cleanse: repeat day one regime.

Day Three Cleanse: Wake up and use salt water flush recipe below. Two hours later drink laxative tea and throughout the day drink lemonade. Drink laxative tea before bed.

Salt Water Flush Recipe:

2 tablespoons sea salt
1 8 oz glass of water

Mix the two together and drink the flush as fast as you can. Then lay on your right side to allow the salt water to enter your intestines as quickly as possible. This works because you are unable to digest mineral salts in your body so in defense your body will push this out as quickly as possible. Along with the flush you will also lose excess waste that has been in your intestines for a long period of time. The shear force will push this out and clean your digestive tract from the inside.

** A word of caution: it is not uncommon for you to throw up the flush the first few times. Do not let this discourage you, keep trying. But make sure you have your medical doctor aware of your progress through out this whole process.

Day Four Cleanse: repeat day three. At this point you will want to follow day three to the end of the fourteen days.

Ease Out:

Unlike the ease in which is an optional step in this diet the ease out should be considered vital to the success of this diet and to help you get back on track to eating solid foods. Your body has just undergone an overhaul and has gotten used to the all liquid diet. To not ease into eating solid foods is not good for your digestive system. The ease out phase is a simple matter of reversing the ease in phase.

Day one: drink juices and broths

Day two: start adding solid fruits but continue to drink juices and broths.

Day three: eat solid fruits and vegetables

Day Four: Start eating regular food in small portions.

Congratulations you have just spent almost three weeks helping you get to a stronger and healthier you. You will be feeling healthier, looking great, and full of energy. Some general words of advice, don't fall back into old habits, eat healthy with lots of fiber to keep your digestive tract in top working order, and exercise to tone up and help you continue on your journey to the new and improved you.

So many people have stated that they had great results but gained the weight back. If you do the cleanse the right way and continue your getting healthy journey you won't gain the weight back. It is important that you think of this cleanse as a new beginning.

This is not an easy cleanse and it is recommended that you let your health care professional know you are doing this and that you keep them aware of any changes and even your progress towards the cleanse. Thank you and happy cleansing.
