Many cars come with wheels that have been designed by the accountants because they won't offend others and no one will care too much about them. However, that just won't cut it in this day in age. Standing out from the others on the road starts with the wheels. And luckily for you, there are many options out there. Everything from painted rims to wheels with spinners are going to be available for your vehicle. Choosing the perfect rim is up to you.
So what should you look for in a good wheel? First off, no matter the brand, no matter the size, if it looks good to you, go for it. Pick a wheel that makes you glad that you bought it. Trying to make your car perfect by choosing the exact wheel is going to be exhausting and will probably never end. If you find a great wheel that fits your bolt pattern and looks good to you, it will look good on your car. What you have to take into consideration, though, is that bolt pattern. Obviously if you have five bolts, you can't put a 4 bolt wheel on. The best thing to do is find out the specific bolt pattern that you have so you can narrow down your search. The next thing you should decide on is whether or not you want a painted rim or a chromed rim or something else. Obviously, you can always get your rims painted after purchasing, but many wheels come in the color that you want them to already. The same goes for chrome.
Another thing that you have to take a look at is the offset. The offset of a wheel is the distance to the centerline of the wheel from the mounting point. For example, a zero offset will have the mounting point right in the middle of the wheel. A positive offset means the hub is closer to the outside of the wheel, whereas a negative offset means that the hub is nearer the inside. A wheel with a big negative offset will usually have what is referred to as a "deep dish" design. Essentially this type of wheel will have a big lip on it and that is another styling element that you have to decide if you like or not.
Another design element is the spokes. You can get wheels that come with as little as three spokes up to wheels featuring hundreds of wire spokes. In fact, you can even get wheels that don't feature spokes at all and have holes in them or are just one solid piece of alloy material. It all depends on what you like and what you can afford. There are literally thousands of wheel choices on the market for you to sift through, but having a good understanding of what will and won't fit your car before you look will help you immensely.
