Fishing is a very under rated family time activity. This article will help show a couple of reasons why fishing can be very inexpensive, and very enjoyable for the whole family.

1. The economy. Well we all know that the economy is bad right now and many families can't afford the usual expensive family trips that we are all use too, so a lot of us have to cut back on some luxuries, like expensive trips. More and more of us are taking day trips or long weekend trips to make up for the loss. Well not all is lost, there are lots of options out there. You can go on a fishing and camping trip, or deep sea fishing trip, and they are all very reasonable in price, and very enjoyable for the family. So it's not a five star hotel in Florida, but sometimes we have to ruff it.

2. Family Time. Spending time with your family is one of the most important things to do in your life. These days we spend so much time working to put a roof over are heads, that we are sometimes too tired to spend time with our children. The day of one parent staying home with the kids is a thing of the past. Our kids come home from School to an empty house for a couple of hours until we get out of work. Fishing is a great way to spend some quality time with your kids, it's relaxing, and you can find rivers or lakes not far from ware you live. Even if it's only for a few hours your kids will love you for it.

3. Teaching your children how to fish. When you teach a kid to fish you teach them to survive, they will always know how to catch a meal, it may not seem important now, but later in their lives it will be very important. Have you ever seen a kid when they catch their first fish, the look on their faces is unforgettable, they are so happy and proud, that's when you know they are hooked (no pun intended) and they will want to go fishing every chance they can, which will help you when you decide to take the whole family on a fishing trip.
