In the story of "Goldie Locks and the Three Bears," the character Goldie Locks breaks into the house of the three bears. She then finds different items (chair, bed, etc) that are too hard, something that is too soft, and an item that is just right. She settles on the item that is just right in each case. While none of us need to worry about fighting off three bears when they come back to their cottage, most of us are in need of losing some weight. When selecting a diet, it is important to select the right plan that will give you the best results. Just like Goldie Locks, some plans are too hard and intense for people, while other plans don't give enough challenge to produce results. The secret is to find elements that will form a weight loss plan that is just right for you.

When you are constructing a weight loss plan be sure not to believe in the one size fits all solution. Just like in other things in life all of us are different. All of our bodies react in different ways to different foods and exercise. While you can see what things have worked for different people and try to apply those principles to yourself, it is important that you don't just blindly follow a plan that claims to work for everyone. Yet, there are principles that all good weight loss plans should try and incorporate.

Controlling what you are eating. Even if you are exercising everyday it doesn't mean that you can eat whatever you want. Controlling your diet is how you can limit the calories and fats that you eat every day. Counting calories is a good way of helping you to figure out a general guideline of about how many calories you need to have in your diet to be successful. It is important that the number isn't too low as that will cause your metabolism to slow down and you to burn too few calories. At the same time it is important that you aren't eating too many calories as your body will convert excess into fat. Finding the just right amount will take a little trial and error, but it will produce the best weight loss results.

Just as it is important to control what you are eating, it is also important to control what you are drinking. Water is the best drink for people that are trying to lose weight. Water helps your body to process the waste in your body that comes from your body converting fat into energy. It also doesn't add excess sodium and sugar/artificial sweeteners to your diet. Just drinking water could be a too hard weight loss solution, but if you can manage it you will see more success.

Increasing the amount of protein in your diet is very important to help build lean muscles. Lean muscles act like little weight loss factories in your body. It takes large amounts of calories to create lean muscle, and it also takes large amounts to maintain. Protein is the building block that your body uses to create lean muscle. A good way to augment your protein intake is to take a protein supplement. There are many protein supplements, but the just right protein is whey protein isolate. Whey protein isolate gives the most protein in the mixture without the carbohydrates and fats that other blends contain. Whey protein is also easier to digest, and to metabolize, which means that your body will use the protein more efficiently and it won't cause indigestion that other proteins cause.

Nobody wants to fail at losing weight. It is hard to build up the motivation required to create and stick to a weight loss program. When you are planning your weight loss be sure to find a program that is just right for you.
