Being aware of the signs of health problems is the most crucial part of the health and well-being of your dog. Here are 6 common dog health problems symptoms.
1. For instance, whenever the dog experiences continuous nasal discharge, it suggests the presence of nasal congestion and if the discharge is thick, most of the times, the dog could be suffering from pneumonia.
2. If the dog throws up one or two times once in a while, this may not be interpreted as a serious sign of a health problem, however, if the dog continues throwing up, then this is something that could be critical and needs to be checked out by a veterinarian.
3. If the dog suffers continuous itchiness, then one needs to check the dog first by closer observation and examination of the skin by parting the hair back, particularly in case of the long haired breeds. You might also discover several ticks or lice on the skin, which may appear normal at a distance.
4. If the dog passes loose fecal matter one or two times, this normally wouldn't be a cause for immediate alarm, however, if there is continuous passing of loose stool, then the dog is probably suffering from a bowel disorder and should be examined by a veterinarian.
5. Observe the dog's walking movements and look for any abnormal movements in the dog. If the dog is limping, the animal could be suffering from foot wounds. Likewise, if the dog is getting up in years and has difficult walking and has less of an appetite along with recurrent vomiting, then acute kidney disease like nephritis or Bright's disease may be the cause and needs to be ruled out by letting a vet examine the dog.
6. If there's whiteness in the eyes, this could indicate the disease, trypanosomosis. Once the dog becomes anemic, the mucous membrane of the eyes becomes paler and in severe cases, this can cause a white ashen color.
