Actually a lot of people need wellness coaching. If people are honest with themselves they would see that they are not getting very far by themselves, in most aspects of their health, while they are doing it alone. Sometimes you need a stepping stone to get you across the stream so that you can permanently end up on the other side.

What is wellness coaching?

Wellness coaches help people improve all areas of their wellness. This includes eating habits, weight issues, stress, and fitness, control of health problems, and lifestyle issues as they influence wellness. It also can include your spirituality or the way you look at things and how they influence your overall health.

Why would I need wellness coaching?

Everything is easier when you have the proper help. You may know that you have soup waiting for you downstairs but you also know that there is a bag of chips down there too. You may know the reasoning for why you should eat the soup over the chips but with no one really to guide you away from the chips, you will probably end up eating them anywase.

Coaching gives you a set of rules to follow, a guide to help you follow them, and support from someone who can relate to you and really help you.

What is the wellness coach's role?

Using a respectful and honest form of communication a wellness coach will review, question, and go over goal setting with you. Honesty is the key to let them help you the way they can.

With the information they obtain they make it possible for the process of change with you. As you identify where you are in life and where you want to be and how you'll get there, coaches help you to find those answers. They aid in identifying and defining priorities and areas for growth in transitioning clients from where they are to where they want to be. Coaches utilize assessment and behavior change tools to motivate clients to take charge, identify their motivators and learn how to grow and change.

What is your role in it all?

You have to make a commitment to achieve goals in an effort to accomplish more than you could perform alone. This is why you are there after all.

I've watched people who go to get help and end up wasting money in the process. If you really want the help and really want to have a better lifestyle, than you need to make the commitment and do your part to realize your end goal.
