What do you expect the best Microsoft certified training providers to provide a trainee in the United Kingdom at present? Patently, the very best Gold Partner Microsoft certified training tracks, providing a range of options to take you to a variety of careers in the IT workplace. Maybe you'd choose to discuss the job possibilities with a training advisor - and if you're not sure, then get help to sort out whereabouts in industry would be best, based on your likes and dislikes and your character. Having selected the career path you want, an appropriate course needs to be chosen that's a match for your ability level and skill set. This can be personally tailored for your requirements.

The right sort of training package will undoubtedly also include wholly authorised exam simulation and preparation packages. Don't fall foul of depending on unofficial exam preparation systems. The terminology of their questions is sometimes startlingly different - and this could lead to potential problems in the actual examination. It's a good idea to ask for exam preparation tools so you'll be able to check your understanding along the way. Simulations of exams prepare you properly - then the real thing isn't quite as scary.

You have to be sure that all your certifications are what employers want - don't bother with courses which provide certificates that are worthless because they're 'in-house'. From an employer's viewpoint, only the major heavyweights like Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe or CompTIA (as an example) give enough bang for your buck. Anything less just doesn't cut the mustard.

A ridiculously large number of organisations only look at the plaque to hang on your wall, and avoid focusing on what you actually need - which is of course employment. Your focus should start with where you want to get to - don't make the vehicle more important than the destination. It's not unheard of, for instance, to obtain tremendous satisfaction from a year of studying but end up spending 10 or 20 years in a career that does nothing for you, entirely because you stumbled into it without some decent due-diligence when it was needed - at the start.

Never let your focus stray from what it is you're trying to achieve, and build your study action-plan from that - don't do it back-to-front. Stay focused on the end-goal and study for an end-result you'll enjoy for years to come. We recommend that students take guidance from a skilled professional before you begin a study course, so there's little doubt that the chosen route will give you the skills for the job being sought.

A question; why is it better to gain commercial certification and not more traditional academic qualifications taught at schools, colleges or universities? The IT sector now acknowledges that for an understanding of the relevant skills, official accreditation from the likes of Adobe, Microsoft, CISCO and CompTIA most often has much more specialised relevance - for much less time and money. Of course, an appropriate degree of associated knowledge must be taught, but precise specifics in the exact job role gives a vendor educated student a real head start.

As long as an employer is aware what areas they need covered, then all it takes is an advert for the particular skill-set required. Syllabuses are set to meet an exact requirement and can't change from one establishment to the next (as academic syllabuses often do).
