As a blogger, you are likely to be building up your business, getting yourself recognised and positioning yourself as an expert in your niche. All of these are reasons to consider using a ghost writer.

A 'ghost writer' sounds like a mystery novelist or possibly even something supernatural, so many people are not really aware of what they can do for their businesses. You don't need to be afraid of a ghost writer, they're simply freelance writers, who agree to hand over all rights to the content to you, the buyer.

As a freelance writer, they earn money for individuals and businesses either under contract or by piece. When you engage a ghost writer, you're will purchase all rights to the text which means you claim the copyright and can publish the articles as if you wrote them yourself. You can put your name to them as if you wrote them yourself.

There are plenty of places you can hire a freelance or ghost writer to help you, no matter what your niche subject is. Try guru.com or getafreelancer.com. All these systems have publishers and authors (writers). The publisher offers their project and the authors bit on the jobs. These third party sites offer security for payment and the delivery of the written piece, which is good for all parties concerned.

These sites also allow a rating system of the writers and once an author has done some work they may have comments or ratings by the publisher. When you're considering using an author, read through the comments to help make your decision. Remember though, that a newly signed up author may not have any previous work yet. If you think that a new author may be suitable, ask for samples of work, as most authors will have articles published in one or more of the article directories.

Using your ghost written articles:

  • Pay a directory submission service and post the articles. Try to post as many articles as the service allows so you get the most benefit for you money. It will take you very little time if your articles have all been written for you already.
  • If you don't want to do the submission work yourself, try making it part of your contract that the ghost writer submits the contents and include it in their fee. Before you let them submit the articles, make sure you have read the articles and fully approved them. Send them back for editing if they need to be changed. Clearly state in your agreement that the ghost writer may only submit the articles after you have given final approval in writing.
  • Add the ghost written content to your own blog. When you look for a writer, find one with a style you like, and if you also write your own content, ensure their style blends in with your own. The easist way to get the most benefit from the articles is to use a service like Blogomator. At Blogomator, you can upload your content for periodic submission to your blog, thereby ending your daily task of writing and submitting posts. Instead, you can upload your entire batch of articles and tell Blogomator when to post it, meaning your WordPress blog will receive fresh new articles everyday for a long time.

Once you start to use a ghost writer, and add a service like Blogomator you will have a lot more time to spend on other parts of your business, or have more leisure time!

Should you decide you need a team of ghost writers, make sure they have a similar writing style. Remember, you must like their style because they are representing you and your business and improving your reputation and branding and for that, you need consistency.

Another benefit to hiring a ghost writer is that you appear to be a prolific, professional writer, even if you never type out a single article for yourself. You get the accolades for being an expert in your field without spending hours at the keyboard writing articles. Of course, it is better that you are at least familiar with your field so you can answer the comments that come in response to your ghost written articles.

You can also use a ghost writer to write articles or translate existing articles into another language too. The Internet is a global medium with people from all over the world. In fact, two of the largest Internet user populations are in China and India, where English is not the primary language.

Consider using a ghost writer to work with you. They can be quite inexpensive and allow you to work on projects in other parts of your business, or free up time so you can spend it doing more of the things you really enjoy.
