Home gym is one of the most popular exercise machines for people who want benefits of a good workout without leaving home to get it. Home gym can help us build muscle, build an attractive body, rev up a sluggish metabolism and shave years off our age. The best home gyms are durable, reliable, constructed with quality parts and materials, and important thing they can meet our specific fitness and workout needs.

Basically there are three types of home gym. They are: machine, free weight, and plate loaded machine. Each type of the home gym comes with its own advantages and disadvantages, and each is suited to different workout needs and styles.
The most important thing when purchase a home gym is decides on our workout goals and requirements first. There are different training methods for the various areas of our body, such as for our arms, legs, calves, shoulders, chest, back or abs. Some people exercise for overall fitness while others prefer to focus on toning and strengthening specific areas of their body. Depending on our focus and requirements our home gym equipment may be as simple as comprising of only barbells, weight-plates and racks, to more complex multi home gyms.
When we are getting started, keep in our mind the following helpful things: Determine our personal fitness goals, find a proper location, tone up our technology, add our own personal design touch to the space, and put accessories to work. Simple home gym equipments such as power racks are suitable mainly for simple weight training exercises but they lack versatility. Multi home gyms allow variety in our fitness regimen. A good home gym lets us perform many types of exercises from bench press and leg curls to sit-ups and butterfly.
Obviously we have certain goals in mind since we decided to buy a home gym, now we should be certain the machine has the right stuff for us to realize those goals. But if the goals are simple and straight forward like more leg strength, great number of home gyms will be ideal for reaching the goal. Inquire from the dealer or acquire a brochure that lists the options a certain gym is equipped with. If our goals are a bit advanced we should want to look at a free weight home gym with higher weight levels to be in condition to support our changing fitness goals.
Another thing to consider is that home gyms are usually used by more than one user, so it is more cost effective to purchase one that best meets all the users' requirements. It is more practical if the home gym provides more than one workstation with two or more weight stacks so that more than one user can workout at the same time.
Nowadays home gym equipments include frames, cables, pulleys and weight-plates. To ensure we purchase a good quality home gym, check that the frames are made of rustproof steel, and test the cables for strength and durability. It should have a good combination of weight-plates to suit different needs. The bench should be adjustable for perfect body positioning for different exercises. Also check whether the individual components come with a lifetime warranty.
Home gym costs can range from US$400 to more than US$4,000 depending on the complexities of the home gym equipment. Good purchase of a home gym is going to need an investment of your money. We all want the gym to be durable and for it to work properly as it was planned. Always check to make sure the craftsmanship of the design is such that we can be trustful with the gym. Nicely constructed and well designed must be able to provide years of usage to the buyer. Read reviews of as many home gyms as we can make by actual owners or consumer reports and give just as much consideration of design towards buying our home gym as we would our new vehicle.
Some of most popular home gym in the market are body solid home gym, marcy home gym, total home gym, and weider home gym.
