Honestly accumulation of fat in the stomach region has become a pain in the neck. More over to stop a belly growing fat has become a hideous task because belly fat is stubborn to shed off. It will require harnessed effort and commitment. There are quite 2 major ways to stop a belly growing fat. They are

* Eating healthier
* Exercising more

I am going to break down eating healthier into different subheads

* Foods to avoid
* Foods to eat

For the type of exercises

* General body workout/Cardio
* Targeted belly exercises

Foods to avoid

What constitutes a belly growing fat majorly is the type of food that we eat. Some foods easily make us accumulate fat in the groin region. The major culprits are refined carbohydrates(carbs), foods that are sugar-rich and junk foods. Refined carbs make you gain body weight generally and they usually have high glycemic index. They have high glycemic index because they easily head straight into the blood stream to spike up your blood sugar once their digestion is complete. These same food types are readily available for conversion into fat. The fat is deposited in all the fat storage areas of the body like thighs, arms and especially bellies. So the more of these you eat the more you find out that you are gaining weight and the major proportion is in the belly region. So avoid refined carbs

Sugar-laden foods also respond in the manner refined carbs do, but in a more aggressive manner. It is easier to digest and quickly converted to glucose and stored as fat which has an affinity for the stomach area.

Another category type of food to avoid is junk food - this is because they increase the body acidity due to heavy dose of artificial ingredients like artificial preservatives, flavors used. Increased acidity increases body toxin level which in turn increases your food and junk food craving and of course high chance of a belly growing fat. Once this habit is formed a vicious cycle becomes established and hard to break.

Foods to eat

Fiber- You should put enough fiber in your diet. Fibers help regulate the absorption of glucose into the blood stream. Consequently, it slows down its conversion into fat which is the end product of all unused glucose anyways. Fat storage in the bellies, thighs and arms is minimized. The two types of fibers are important for this purpose and must be included in your diet.

Fruits and Vegetables- Simply make this part of your every meal. To see results, take the fruits before eating the main meal

General body work-out

General work out the targets all parts of the body and produces a general body weight loss. Work-out can take several forms. You don't have to get to the gym before you can work out and break out sweat. Gym is good but sometimes you are behind schedule and goal because you are constantly missing gym days. At that point finding an activity that is a hobby and turning it into a workout regimen is the way to go. An example is dancing to a music you love and doing jump rope.

Targeted stomach exercises

Gone are the days when sit ups and crunches were working. Thanks to new innovations in technology, exercise equipment that help target and stop a belly growing fat are in the market and are producing results. This has worked for me personally, especially with the hanging lower belly. My advice is get one that gives support to the back.
