I wanted to talk to you about attaching an acoustic guitar strap to your guitar. Usually when you purchase a guitar you're going to have one. Especially if you're a beginner you're going to be focused on learning and you'll do most of that while you're sitting down. Once you try to play a little for friends while standing up do you realize that you need something to hold up the guitar as you play. This is a huge problem. And you need a guitar strap to fix the problem. This is a really simple thing that you need to do and I'll show you.

Let's assume that your guitar already has the hardware for your guitar strap. All you have to do is get a strap from the store and snap it on to the neck and base of the guitar. That's all you need to get it ready. If you're someone that has a guitar which doesn't have the hardware than you're going to have to install it yourself or have a professional install it. Installing it can be a little complicated the first time, but it isn't that hard.

What you'll want to do is pick up the hardware at your local music store. You take a drill, with a bit that is slightly smaller than the screw you'll be using. Drill a hole into the neck and one into the base of the guitar (into some solid wood). Next you just screw in the hardware and make sure it is tight. That's all you have to do to get the hardware on and now you can attach your guitar strap.
