Radio or remote control cars sold in the market come in a variety of designs, and style. Many people become interested in purchasing RC cars as a new splurge for their new hobby or for casual entertainment during the weekends. The same dilemma that is encountered by first time players is: How do they make up their minds on a certain model that will fit their needs? To effectively answer this question, we will look at the different types of RC based on the different power sources that fuel them and their terrain capabilities.
There are two kinds of RC when it comes to the primary source of power used to run them. In the hobby stores, you will find gas powered and electric powered cars. Gas powered model like a nitro car uses nitromethane as fuel and the fuel has to go through combustion process in order to run. Unfortunately, this causes a release of smoke and a considerable amount of noise. The plus side of having a gas powered car is that it can run at extreme high speed for a very long extended time before needing the next refuel.
Electric powered RC can be a choice to consider if fast reaction rate and light weight appeal to you. These cars are easier to maintain as compared to gas models. However, some racers dislike them as they require a recharging session for their batteries in order to run smoothly, while some like it as it is economical and good to the environment.
RC cars run on different terrains and the designs of some models are made to perform well on a specific ground. With off-road RC, you will find out that they run smoothly on unpaved tracks that have obstacles all about them. If you are interested in running your car on a smooth paved track, then your best buy would be the road RC model that run fastest there. Keep these effective points in the back of your mind as you head to the hobby shop the next time.
