Every body love their home, and it is the sweetest thing in the world. And we can say, it is the blessing of God that we own our own home. But it is possible that there may be some households present in your house and about which you have no idea, how dangerous they can be. Lets talk about some of most important household things which can cause threat to your safety.

1) Kitchen Sponge

Well, I am sure you don't know that the sponge you use in washing dishes contains more than 200 million bacteria and all those bacteria are present on the sponge at this time as well. After washing dishes, the method you use to clean sponge doesn't kill bacteria on it. Even after cleaning, some really dangerous bacteria still exist which can make you sick.
An American institute has researched that cleaning the sponge by washing it with bleach solution or lemon juice is of no use. They specifically told that sponge must be kept in higher temperature in microwave oven or dish washer atleast for 1-minute. This process will kill 99.9% bacteria on the sponge.

2) Your Bed

It is possible that you may have been out for holidays or at relatives for few days, and when you returned, you brought some unwanted guests (insects) stuck with your clothes or luggage and those insects would have hide themselves in dark places in your home. Modern research has shown that such insects (very small) can cause disease like hepatitis or chagas. Allergy and infection is also possible if bitten by these insects. So regularly, after some time, you must use insect killer / insecticides to keep such unwanted guests away from yourself and your children.

3) Computer Keyboard

You may be thinking that only you use computer laptop or keyboard and how keyboard can be dirty. But University of North Carolina has published a research in which it is shown that bacteria are found at keyboard in very large numbers. There can be up to 20 thousand bacteria per inch on the keyboard and main reason for this is that we don't clean our keyboard that often. So to avoid it, you must clean keyboard regularly.

4 ) Washing Machine

Few people will believe that germs or bacteria are present in washing machines. If you use rented washing machines or wash clothes with cool water then germ can spread from one place to another. Arizona University found out in a research that during washing of under wears hepatitis A virus can spread to clothes and then cause real danger to our health. To avoid this, always wash underwear, towels separately.

Bacteria are found on many other places in homes like in handle of your door, Salt and Pepper boxes. Before washing meat or vegetable, always wash your hands with soap. Regularly clean all un-used dishes and boxes. Use insecticides daily as we have said before. So in order to avoid diseases and stay healthy, you must take these steps to make your home safer and healthier.
