However, for those who do make the commitment, affiliate marketing can be a great opportunity to make money online, and possibly even earn enough to replace income from other sources. Follow the tips below, and you too will be on your way to Super Affiliate status!
The quickest path to super affiliate status, is to follow in the steps of other successful affiliates. I know this sounds like a 'no-brainer', but you would be surprised how many marketers try to re-invent the wheel and go their own way. Listen, successful affiliate marketers have already been where you may be now, and know more of what they are talking about. It's as simple as that.
The very first thing super affiliates do, is to research their niche (nish) market thoroughly to determine what product(s) they need to promote. When you understand your niche market, and you know what they're hungry for, it makes everything else in the marketing mix this much easier. First, it saves you time and money learning from trial and error, and second, people will know you've done your homework and trust you. This results in higher sales, and in the long run, reduced marketing costs due to word-of-mouth advertising and repeat sales!
Another important bit of advice successful affiliate marketers will give you, is to focus your efforts around a specific area. You can't be all things to all people, so don't try to sell everything to everyone. Focus your marketing efforts on one area at the start, and split-test the best ways to market and sell in that area. Then, once you've established some success, expand out from there.

By diversifying you get more exposure, plus, if if one merchant goes under or doesn't pay you, your not caught with all your eggs in one basket so to speak.
Also, stay informed of all the current trends and changes in the marketplace. Don't be afraid of changing products, merchants or programs if necessary. There's one thing that never changes about internet marketing, and that is it is always changing! Stay flexible, be willing to change, and make the necessary adjustments to ensure you service your customers and stay in business.
And last but not least, never, never, never quit! What was working several months ago, may not work this month or next month. Affiliate marketing schemes eventually quit working over time, others never even get off the ground to begin with. I've seen too many affiliate marketers quit, when they would have seen success in a matter of months if they would have stuck it out.
