One of the easiest way of generating traffic to your website is through PPC or Pay-Per-Click advertising. All three major search engines, Google, Yahoo and Bing their own PPC advertising programs that promises to give you the best value for the advertising cost that you will have to spend.

Consider Where to Run Your PPC Campaign

While PPC is an efficient and faster way of generating traffic to your website you must also consider several factors to run a successful advertising campaign. First, you need to identify which of the three search engines your intended audience will most likely use to search for information that will lead to your site. Each of the three search engines have a group of users unique to each of them.

One indicator which you could probably use is search market share. Yes, Google might be dominating the monthly statistics on search market share, but you must not discount the share that both Yahoo and Bing gets on a monthly basis. Who knows your target audience might be in those search market shares.

But I'm not stopping you from engaging Google AdWords to run your PPC campaign. If you think that the large search share that Google gets would give the search traffic that your site needs, then by all means run your PPC campaign on Google AdWords.

Consider Your Competitor's PPC Campaign

Of course, identifying the right search engine to which you would run your PPC campaign is not enough and does not guarantee that users would click on your PPC ads once the search engine display it on its SERPs. You must also consider your competitors PPC campaign which might be running together with your campaign. If you have designed your PPC ads in such a way that users will not resist clicking it, you're in luck.

So, how do you know your competitors PPC campaign strategies? Easy, there are various tools available on the Internet, both free and paid ones that offer PPC Competitive Intelligence work. These services will provide you with the necessary data and information relating to top competing PPC campaigns and from there you can easily identify which would be your toughest rival.
