Over half of all web traffic is caused by search engines. Engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, and MSN will bring traffic to your site if you know how to use them. But how do you use them? You need to optimize your keywords for search engine use. Here are a few tips to get the best search engine keyword results.
What is your site about? You need to narrow your subject matter down. Most people who find success on the internet, find it because they have create a niche site. You need to have a specific subject for your blog or website, so that you can have specific keywords to direct people there.
To get the best search engine keyword results you need to know what specific keywords to use. These tools will be able to tell you what terms are searched for most often in relation to your site. As a general rule, the smaller the term, the more often that it is searched. For instance, the term weight loss has a large number of people searching for it, where as weight loss for seniors will have less people searching for it.
Remember that the best search engine keyword that you can use may not always be the most popular one. When you use popular terms two things happen. First, you will be in high competition with many other sites that are fighting for the same terms. You might have a lot of people searching for your words, but they might be ending up at other sites.
Also, if they do end up on your site, they might not want to be there. Using general keywords can bring you a lot of traffic, but it might not be the right traffic. If your site is about a bed and breakfast, you don't want people visiting who are looking for a new mattress or a place to eat.
