If you own a website it goes without saying that you want to attract as much targeted traffic as possible. Figuring out how to bring the visitors to your tiny corner of the Internet can be a daunting task and once you've found a technique which offers some measure of success, the rules will change on you and your traffic nosedives.

You will either have to split the directories into sets, with a different form of the article for each, or cater only for the lowest common denominator that fits the requirements of all. In doing this you could be losing out with those directories that are more liberal in their URL allowance.

Every directory will have its own guidelines since there is no universally accepted format for article submission. Take your time to understand those for all the directories you submit to; auto-submissions are not always able to take this into account.

Some may limit the topics and other may be published in only a limited number of countries. However, even if your native language is English, it might be worthwhile having your article translated into another language in order to extend your exposure in countries such as China.

Nevertheless the human ego lusts for TV exposure and bragging results I suppose. Not me, I prefer results. The web is where it's at as 75% of all people turn to search engines online to get their information, find a

Whilst ensuring proper grammar and spelling will ensure that the article submission process is as smooth as possible, without having to redo the article and resubmit. This can be ensured by checking and rechecking the article before physically submitting the written work to the directory.

Getting your article deleted. High quality, customer focussed articles are usually accepted by the directories. If your article is poor quality, blatently advertises affiliate links or generally will not be useful to the article directories then you unlikely to get your article published.

Article directory submissions can improve your image and credibility. This happens when you provide quality and usable information. When people read your articles and gain needed information, they want more information from you. They seek out your websites to see what else they can learn.

Creating a login for each directory, reading the guidelines, submitting articles and then attaching a resource box with each article - there is a long list of things that need to be done for submitting an article to these directories. This long, boring task can be fully outsourced to submission services.

Now that you have your article under the right category, people interested in that niche will look for articles and content under the category they are interested in. As people interested in your niche stumble upon your articles, they will be enthralled by what they find.

There is no denying that article marketing is a very good way to promote your website. Finding which method makes the most of your efforts can seem like a job in itself. My experience tells me that the combination of submitting articles to article directories and the occasional utilization of mass-distribution works best.
