Tiles can be an adaptable material to add to your home and add an ease to cleaning. It can enhance the beauty or add flair to the room. They can be expensive or make your home appear to be alluring. Many times these can be found on walls, floors and other places to add a decorative touch.

When used in the bathroom, they can be on the walls and add an extravagant feel to the room like stepping into your own spa, or it can brighten and make the room cozy. Showers also often have tiles, and these can be in a pattern to give high contrast to the room or can be solid.

The floors can also use tiles, and they can be very cold. Heated bathroom tiles can be appealing, and are easy to install. The electrical system is housed in a mat that unrolls across the floor and tiles can be installed over them and can be a good weekend project. The heating is controlled by a thermostat, and you should get a professional electrician to do this portion of the project for you.

In the kitchen, tiles can be used for counters and on the floors. These can be made to add a fresh feel to the room, and you can have them laid in a pattern or choose to have it one color. Granite is one of the better materials in the kitchen due to the durability of the material, and it doesn't retain staining and it comes in many colors.

Back splashes can also be tiles, and they can be used directly behind the cooking area or be used as a border around the room directly above the counter. They save the damage to the walls, and can make cleaning simple. Choose the counter first, so you can decide if you want to coordinate the back splash to it, or contrast it with a different color or pattern. Tiles can also be found in stainless steel for the back splash, and can make it feel like a gourmet kitchen, or you can use mosaic patterns in a rainbow of colors. Glass may be efficiently used behind the sink, allowing you to have ample light without giving up any privacy.

Flooring is also frequently tiled, and ceramic or granite tiles are best used on the floor since the can handle being in a high traffic area, as well as having the most colors to choose from. You can opt for solid or patterns as well. You will want to make sure you are using the right tiles, since they are thicker for the floor then the walls.

For a traditional look that recalls ages past, add tiles to a fireplace or mantle. This can rejuvenate and give notice to an existing one and can be used to make it a central fixture in the room. Since this is a small area, the more expensive and artistic tiles can be used to the greatest effect here.

Tiles can be used to make your home look better and more expensive. No matter what style of a home you have, tiles can be included easily and can save you time in cleaning.
