How to use bullet and numbering options on Microsoft Word 2000

Bullets and numbering
A very quick method of bulleting and numbering paragraphs and setting a hanging indent at the same time is to use the Bullets and Numbering option.

  • Either select an existing list or switch on this feature before you type your list.

Bullets

  • Select bullets and numbering from the format menu

There are three control Tabs to this dialog box

  • Click on the Bullets Control Tab
  • Or Tab to focus on Bullets
  • Click on the bullet required

A black line will appear around it

  • Click on the ok button or press enter to switch on this feature.

Numbered
For numbering tab to the numbered control tab and select the required number format the same way as you did for Bullets

Outline Numbered
For Outline Numbered tab to the Outlined numbered control tab and select the required Outline format the same way as you did for Bullets

Pictured Bullet

  • Click on the picture button
  • Or Press Alt + P

There is a toolbar on top of this dialog box and the commands are from the left Back, Forward, Home, Import clips, Clips online, Help, Copy and paste

  • Click on them to operate
  • Or Alt + Left arrow key for Back
  • Alt + Right arrow key for forward
  • Alt + I to Import clips
  • Alt + C for Clips online
  • Alt + H for Help
  • Ctrl + C to copy
  • Ctrl + V to Paste
  • Double Click on the required picture bullet to select
  • Or use arrow key and press enter
  • Click on or tab to the Motion clip tab and select the same way as you did for picture bullet

Customise bullet

  • Click on or arrow to the bullet you want to customise
  • Click on the customise button
  • Or alt + C
  • Click on the font button
  • Or Alt + F

And the font dialog box will appear. Make you selections as per earlier instructions

  • Click on Bullet
  • Or Alt + B

And the Symbol Dialog box will appear

  • Double click to select
  • Or use arrow key and press enter
