You see advertisements all over the Internet for software and services that will submit your article to nine million article directories, four hundred trillion e-zines, and wherever else they can dream up. First of all, even if your article did get submitted to all these places, more than half of the article directories listed are sites with no traffic anyway. You see, what happens is the owners of the article submission software will go on the web and create a bunch of fake article directories, dump some articles on there with some links, and then add that article directory to their "list of sites submitted to" in their submission software.

This is an old technique that was developed by creators of TGP Submission Script software programs. TGP is an acronym for Thumbnail Gallery Post, which is a popular format for many adult related websites. Webmasters, who own their own adult website, submit free adult content to the TGP and in return get a free link back to their own site. So, the idea is that the more TGP's you submit to, the more traffic you will get. Pretty much the same format as an article directory. Back in the day, adult websites were making hoards of money, so webmasters would pay big money to get a good TGP submission script. So, what the script creators would do is create a bunch of cookie cutter TGP websites and then post the submission URL's in their submission script's "TGP list" as legitimate websites. Do not fall for this trick, if you insist on buying an article submission program; request their full submission list ahead of time.

Then there is the difference between fully automated article submitters, and "manual" submitters. The automatic ones are a lot quicker, but they do not usually allow you to select the proper category on each site, and many directories loathe auto-submitters and do everything they can to reject articles submitted by them. The manual ones will just load the article directory website in a custom web browser, and attempt to fill in all the fields the best it can, but then you still have to submit it yourself and deal with the CAPTCHA protection also. After doing this a few times, you start to question the worth of the manual "submitters," there is not much of a difference then doing it yourself.

As far as time saving, the best choice would likely be a manual submission service. These services are other people who will submit your article, manually, to a set number of article sites for a reasonable fee. Before going this route, make sure that the articles you do use for this service are quality articles. If you are going to pay for each article submitted, then you want to make sure you will get a nice return on your investment in the long run. There is probably no need to pay for fifty or a hundred directories, using the top twenty would likely be more than adequate. Plus, if it is a good article, other websites will surely pick it up and use it.
