Shading, Gridlines and Scrolling in Excel 2000 worksheet
Shading
- Highlight the cells you want to format
- Select the format drop-down menu
- Select on cells and the format cells dialog box will appear.
- Or E for cells and the format cells dialog box will appear
By default the cursor will be on the last tab you used.
- Click on the pattern control tab then either chose a colour or click on the arrow in the pattern combo box for the pattern menu to appear.
- Select the pattern required. Click O. K.
- Or Right arrow to the pattern tab
- Tab to colour box or the pattern combo box
- Use arrow keys for colour or pattern required
- Enter to select the colour or pattern
- Tab to OK button and press enter
Change the gridline colour.
- Select the sheets on which you want to change the gridline colour.
- On the Tools menu, click Options
- Click the View tab.
- Click the down arrow on the combo colour box and then the colour you want
- Click OK button
- To use the default gridline colour, click Automatic.
- Or Alt + T for tools menu
- O for options
- Arrow key to the View Tab
- Tab to the Colour combo Box
- Down arrow for the pop-up colour menu
- Arrow keys (the first must be the up arrow) to your colour choice
- Enter to select
- Tab to the OK button and enter
Hide or unhide cell gridlines
- Select the sheets on which you want to hide the gridlines
- Select options from the Tools drop-down menu, and then the View tab.
- Click on gridlines to check or un-check box
- Or tab to gridlines and tap the spacebar to un-check or check box
Move and scroll through a worksheet
To move between cells on a worksheet
- Click any cell or use the arrow keys.
When you move to a cell, it becomes the active cell.
- To see a different area of the sheet, use the scroll bars.
To Scroll
- One row up or down click the arrows in the vertical scroll bar.
- One column left or right click the arrows in the horizontal scroll bar.
- One window up or down click above or below the scroll box in the vertical scroll bar.
- One window left or right click to the left or right of the scroll box in the horizontal scroll bar.
- A large distance, drag the scroll-box to the approximate relative position. In a very large worksheet, hold down Shift while dragging.
Notes The size of a scroll box indicates the proportional amount of the used area of the sheet that is visible in the window. The position of a scroll box indicates the relative location of the visible area within the worksheet
