Attributes and alignments
Attributes are font styling such as bold, italics, and underlining. You can apply these by clicking on their respective icon on the formatting toolbar or from the font tab in the format cells dialog box. You can also change the alignment of text in cells from their respective icons on the formatting toolbar or from the format cells dialog box.
- Double-click on week 1**
- Hold shift key down and click on total - it is now highlighted.
- Click on the centre icon, the bold icon and the underlining icon one at a time.
- If you do not like the result simply click on the icon again and it will go back to the original.
- Now With week 1 to total still highlighted, click on the left, right and centre alignment icons one at a time.
- If you do not like the result simply click on the icon again and it will go back to the original.
- Or Highlight cell, Ctrl + O to format drop-down menu
- Arrow key to cells and press enter
- Arrow key to Font tab, tab to font style
- Arrow key to required style and then press enter
** if you havent done the exercise from a previous article then type it in.
Adjust column width
As you work with a worksheet, you might need to adjust the width of the columns to make your worksheet more readable. You can adjust the column width by using the mouse or the column command on the format menu.
- Point to the column heading and move the pointer to the right side of the cell until the pointer changes then double click and drag the boundary on the right side of the column heading until the column is the width you want.
- Or Alt + O for format menu
- Down arrow to column
- Right arrow to sub-menu
- Down arrow to auto fit selection and press enter
