There are a lot of ideas being written about how attraction between the opposite sexes works, but a lot of it is simply misplaced and confusing. Frankly, this is something that is hard to understand rationally and that’s why there are so many misconceptions.

What DO women find attractive? I can say that the one misconception that keeps coming up all the time is the one about looks and PHYSICAL attractiveness. Then next to that, many guys obsess over being muscular and bulky. But I’ll tell you what – being what is traditionally named "handsome" is not what creates attraction in women. Yes, she will be interested in you because of your looks at first, but if there is no attraction present, she will soon go to the next good-looking guy.

Talking from my own experience – I consider myself good-looking and have been complimented by women on my looks. But here's the thing - I used to be the biggest loser with women. Women asked me out often, but I never said yes! Nothing ever happened in my dating life. I had low self-esteem, was totally unconfident and actually a bit afraid of women. So my looks didn't matter.

The game is all about how you behave and how you hold yourself – self-confidence, what your values are, interests, intelligence, how you live your life, whether you are social and have a lot going on, and so on. That’s what women get hooked to and that’s what builds attraction in their hearts. And I would say confidence is the #1 thing. Mix confidence with humor and you get an unbeatable combination.

Oh, and what I told you about being muscular – there’s some truth to it. The kind of looks that you can change and develop in yourself are a special case.
