It has been tried, tested and proven that your dog or puppy will act in response more proficiently and effectively if they are trained with positive dog training. They react and respond to the orders given to them in a positive style because it confirms that you get pleasure from what they are doing, which in turn, makes them to resume doing the positive action.

When your dog is not reacting, you can turn your head or go away from the room and let him stay by himself for a minute. They will get upset when they realize you do not wish to play with them any more.

Let's say you are instructing your dog to sit. Point to the ground, firmly say sit, and wait until your dog sits. Do not shove your dog's rear endto the ground to teach your dog what you want and what "Sit" means.

Wait for him to do it on his own, as he will naturally, and repeat the word "sit" and then give him a treat and some praise.

If your dog does not sit, don't yell or punish him. Walk away, then come back and try it again. Keep this routine until your dog finally gets it. Keep dog treats dandyand when your dog sits, be sure to give him a treat so he knows he did something good and will want to sit when he's commanded.

If your dog loves to play then you can show him a good reaction after he obeys by playing catch with him. You can also have a favorite toy for him to play with when the good deed is done.

Be sure to reward your dog immediately after obeying so he will know what he's doing is a good thing.

This will promote him to do it more and after being done on a consistent basis, he will get the gist of it.

Of course this means you have to be consistent with positive dog training. You have to remember to always give treats upon correct reaction. You must praise him like "Good boy" and rub him around the ears and on the belly.

Never, ever hit at him. I know it seems easy to just yell and swing and it may even be a natural reaction on your part. However, you should try to refrain from doing this.

This will only cause the dog to get confused and he may even begin to answer to the negative reactions in a negative way by continuing to do the incorrect action.

Remember, dogs love any attention whether positive or negative.
