When I first started about two years ago I didn't even contemplate making my own website, instead I believed the promises in the numerous emails I received daily. I was continually spending hours and hours a day searching for the one piece of information that would rocket me to millionaire status. I found out the hard way that there are many, many sharks out there promising you: "$1000 per Week in 3 Days, $78,537 in my first month, Newbie went from$1100 a month to $16,387 in one week,etc., etc.," Absolute Downright Bull....!!!
After spending well in excess of $1500 on these schemes, I was ready to give up,

Then I came across an article by a well known online business man that actually spelled out where I was going wrong, and what made the article more credible was that he had been in the same position as myself. After I did a google search on him I was really impressed his site had just been voted "No 1 Internet Marketing Service Online" by one of the top Business Review sites.
In his article it explained simply that if you do not "Know and Understand" each step in creating your website fully you will never be able to get the maximum out of your site, make any changes that will be necessary, or more importantly know whether your site is customer friendly or not, and that it is has been made to be as profitable as is possible.

This is really important, there are many websites out there promising you can build your website with the push of a few buttons. Well that's fine, you then have your website, but is that enough? How do you add content, alter content, display advertisements etc.

What you do not have is any knowledge of how it was created, how to alter it, or anything connected with maintenance of, or additions to it. Uploading Landing Pages, Squeeze Pages, Blogs, Adverts, Links etc.
I would suggest that this worthless to you, a website you do not know what to do with!

You will have no doubt received emails full of outrageous promises. They are not worth the paper they are writing on, well I know they are not on paper, but you know what I mean. What you need is the process of creating a website from scratch laid out simply step by step at your own pace, no outrageous claims, common sense language, and Free if at all possible. This can be done in two ways, learning the steps to build your own site from an Ebook, or the way I preferred following a series of video's. The video's were the best way for me because I could learn the process by looking over the shoulder of the tutor and watch him actually performing and explaining each action that I needed to replicate. Even better though was being able to rewind and watch again if I had not grasped any of the steps first time round.

If this article can help anybody sidestep all or any of the pitfalls that I came across, and point you in the right direction, then I have achieved what I set out to do.

Below is listed just a Small Example of the knowledge you will need to create and maintain your website and keeping it up to date with current trends, and strategies because you will be in competition with some big guns. All the help you could possibly need all in one place if possible is the absolute best solution.

Once you have your website up and running is probably the time when most new marketers need a helping hand from people in the know. Where to start when marketing your website can seem like a daunting proposition as there are so many ways of marketing, I should know, I was in that position.
