Morkies are great little dogs and if you are reading this article than chances are you are interested in buying a morkie puppy. Before buying a puppy make sure that you do a lot of research in both the breed and the breeder. Below I have listed some important Morkie information that you should know before purchasing a puppy.

Important information to know before buying a Morkie

  • Look into the morkie breed
    • Don't go and buy a morkie puppy on a whim, because you like the look or you met a nice one. Make sure you do some research into the breed. The morkie is not a real breed they are a designer breed, a cross between a maltese and a yorkie. First research the characteristics of maltese and yorkies, and then talk to some people online who have morkies (look for forums and chat groups)
  • Make sure a Morkie is right for you
    • There is nothing worse than bringing a pet into your family, only to find you can not handle or afford them. Before buying a Morkie make sure you can afford them, and they will fit into your life style.

Important information about Morkie breeders

Before getting a puppy make sure you know about the breeder, ask a lot of questions and have a list of questions ready before you call. The more informed you are, the easier it will be to bring a new puppy into your home. Here are a few tips for finding a good breeder

  • Visit the kennel to make sure the kennel is well kept and clean
  • Look at the mother and father of your new morkie puppy, make sure they are healthy and have good features
  • Ask for tests for the mother and father. The Morkie breeder should have some genetic tests done on their breeding stock to ensure they are not breeding dogs with known genetic health problems

Hopefully these tips will help you find the perfect morkie puppy.
