I am sure you have heard the buzz about “Article Mass Control”. It looks pretty awesome doesn’t it? But is it just another article spinner with a powerful name.

Everyone online heard about Frank Kerns “Mass Control”. I think it’s really clever for Adeel and Bobby to chose Mass Article Control for their new article spinning and submission software. If they had called it anything else, there is no way they would be getting the buzz they are now. Despite the fact that the sales page is well done and the Article Mass Control software looks convincing.

You know what my view of these article spinner software is?  As someone who moderates all the content coming into the article directory at article content king, I hate them. Anything that encourages authors to submit articles without reading them, makes my job harder.

I also doubt whether “spinning” an article is actually necessary to avoid any penalties. I’ve never seen a “duplicate content filter” and strongly doubt that it exists. After all I have seen the same article of mine occupy 7 out of the top 10 spots on the first page of Google before now, all linking to exactly the same article published at different sites. Even now, about 12 months later I am still 3 out of the top 10 results, for exactly the same article.

Am I going to give to a link to these results? NO! If I did that I would have to work a lot harder to keep them and I would lose money! When you show people your rankings they automatically think “I want that” and all of a sudden you do not have the ranking anymore.

Take my word for it or don’t, the duplicate content filter does not exist or if it does, I have never seen it.

Does that mean that if you DO spin your articles you WONT get more traffic? NO! You probably will as your articles will be able to rank for different keyword phrases at different sites. It makes sence to submit slightly different articles to each article directory, whether it makes sence to get a software to write them for you is another thing.

Article Mass Control claims that it will create legible “spun” articles and submit them to all the top article sites for you. If that is true, then this will be a fantastic tools for your marketing arsenal. If however, it’s like all the other article spinners we encounter (and know about it) Article Mass Control is just going to make my job as content moderator harder.

I really hope that Article Mass Control will be an article spinner that we encounter and do not know about. If you use it, I would like to hear from you after we publish one of your “spun” articles or indeed your article was rejected for being gibberish

Mass Article Control – Just Another Article Spinner?

Author: Dan Blackburn | Filed under: Recomendations & Reviews

We have implemented some new article submission restrictions today, designed to help speed up the article approval process and further eliminate “article spam”.

The new restrictions we have applied are as follows

  1. No-one shall have more than TWO articles awaiting admin approval.
  2. No-one shall have more than FIVE articles awaiting member moderation

These restrictions will ensure that your articles will be approved more quickly and we will no longer have runs of several articles published by the same author in the moderation queue and “recently approved articles” list.

It is also our hope that these improvements will motivate more authors to moderate articles, as doing this is sure to move any articles you have waiting in moderation higher up the list of articles to be moderated. Moderating articles yourself will remove the “articles awaiting member moderation” restriction more quickly and enable you to submit articles again.

I just stumbled across a website called Twellow.com “The Yellow Pages of Twitter”. It’s really quite cool!

When you claim your Twitter Profile at Twellow, not only can people search, find and follow you based on the “interest categories” that you select, you also get a really cool “Twellow Profile” . Your Twellow Profile is like an advanced Twitter Profile.  As well as displaying your Tweets, bio image and link to your website you can also display an “advanced bio” of up to 2000 charactors and links to your other social networking profiles.

Check out my Twellow Profile Here

It’s like getting a FREE ad for yourself or your business in a directory where people will actually look for you based your interests. You would be a fool not to check it out.

Thanks for WebProNews for creating this service.

Get an Advanced Twitter Profile With Twello.com

I have just discovered something quite fantastic… Google Friend Connect. For a while now I have been wanting to add the ability for visitors to comment on the articles published at Article Content King. Well now that can! All thanks to  Google Friend Connect. It took less than 5 minutes to implement accross the entire site and cost absoultely nothing.

How cool is that?

To leave a comment on the article you are reading, just click the “comments” link on the Google Friend Connect  social bar and leave your comment or type into the comments box on the article page.

You can even post links to you tube videos and other sites for further reading. It’s very tidy and really quite cool.  The latest activity appears on the Social Bar itself, site wide. When you comment, everyone visiting the site at that time gets to see it, but the comment itself is attached to the article you posted it on. You also get a link to your Google account profile in every comment you leave.

These new features have just been added to the site I am the only one in the sites community right now. It feels pretty lonely in there, so please visit the site now and join the comminity and comment on the articles you read. All comments are set to be approved instantly, spammers will be banned quickly.

The reasons for rejection script is working again now, however… if your article was rejected before today the reason(s) why, that we have displayed for you may not be accurate, or even there at all.  If there are no reasons why your article has been rejected check the submission terms page.

Here is an easy list of what we do not like

  1. Articles submitted with a Title that is not in Title case
  2. Article submitted with a link to a website (or domain name) in the title.
    • For example… Low Insurance Quotes from domain.com
  3. Article author not in Title case
  4. Article author that is anything other than Firstname Lastname
    • We don’t like  “SEO Expert” that is not your name.
    • We don’t like John (with no last name)
    • We don’t like Paula Y. your last name is not Y.

If you want to display your qualifications and honors in your name, that’s fine.

  5. Any self serving links in the first 3 paragraphs. (Putting a line of white space between 2 sentences does not turn them into paragraphs).
  6. Bad formatting.
    • E.G. All one block of text, “smart quotes” They display like this… “smart quotes” aren’t very smartâ€
  7. Articles that are pasted from a Rich Text editor without using the “Paste from Word” tool provided. — This creates very “dirty” code on your articles pages and makes the site as a whole less search engine friendly.
  8. Articles in the wrong category… Category selection is VERY important. Our articles are fed into targeted sites, Gardening articles into articles about gardening for example. If we allow articles about say, article marketing to  go into the gardening category, our content partners will look elsewhere for their content and you (everyone) will get LESS traffic.
  9. Bad links in the resource box or article body — It’s not uncommon for people to not enter links into their articles correctly.

ALL the above issues can be fixed easily, but when you multiply fixing an easy task by 100, it becomes a hard task… unless you have 100 people too. All the issues above are 100% avoidable. The only way to avoid these problems is to educate the people who are making them. That’s why we will no longer fix these minor issues for you.

If you have been suspended from submitting articles, don’t take offence, most people have and it’s probably for (next to) nothing! We are not telling you that we don’t think you can write, just that you have not complied with our submission rules to the letter. Our strictness here may be a little OTT in some cases, but eventually it will make the site better for everyone. Traffic is up despite us publishing fewer articles… perhaps BECAUSE we publish fewer articles now.

Please help us drive more traffic to your web sites by complying with the submission rules and taking care when you submit your articles.Fix the articles that we may have rejected and just see the difference in traffic you get from this site when we DO publish your content.

If you have any comments, please let me know.

Thanks
Dan
